The House is Holding Everybody's Tax Cuts Hostage

By not supporting the President's budget that preserves a tax cut on the first $250,000 earned, the Repubican-led House is refusing a tax cut for the Koch Brothers, Bill Gates, Lindsay Lohan, the postal carrier who delivers my mail, me and every other Federal taxpayer in the United States.

Contrary to the way that this conversation is being framed right now in the media, it's really not a case of tax cuts for the middle class versus taxes being raised on the top 2%.

The President's budget includes a tax cut for all on their first $250,000.

John Boehner and his obstructionists in the House want no Americans to receive this universal tax cut, whether you're in the 98% or the top 2%, unless we give a special tax cut to the top 2%--a tax cut that no one else in America gets unless you're in the top 2%--in exchange for cutting earned benefits and tax credits that benefit the middle class.

In other words, the House wants to engage in wage class warfare on 98% of Americans who fall in the middle class, while the President wants to give tax cuts to 100% of taxpayers, regardless of their economic class.

The media conversation is not being framed this way but it should be.
